Rebel Bourbon - Rebel 100 Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Rebel Bourbon - Rebel 100 Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Introduction

Rebel Yell 100 is a wheated bourbon and a new bottle extension for the Rebel Yell brand, first introduced in 2019. That makes it the newest whisky from the Rebel Yell brand, and from everything I've read about this whisky, it's an adventure! Let's go...

On the Nose

Quite a full rich nose, with oak, some dark chocolate and coffee, maybe some caramel or syrup, and slight ethanol. Light apricot starts to appear after nosing for a while.

On the palate

A definite oily mouthfeel. Sweet, that oak from the nose appearing first, with some added vanilla, very light new leather, white pepper... but the apricot (or any fruit for that matter) is gone.

Actually, quite a (dare I say it) boring taste, it's not something I loved, nor is it something I hated. It was just a bit of the middle road for me.

Conclusion

This whiskey really didn't impress me like some other bourbons I've tried lately. I mean, it's not surprising that in the USA, this bottle can be obtained for around $20 (around £15), so it really is budget. For that price, I actually can't complain about the liquid. I won't get excited about it either. It was just, okay.
