Introduction
Atom, the parent company of well-known brands such as Drinks by the Dram, Master of Malt, and Pour and Sip, bring us this independently bottled Speyside single malt scotch whisky. Released for the Christmas market, the dram looks to highlight the traditional 'Christmas notes' usually found in sherry finished whiskies.
We don't know exactly what distillery this whisky is from, but we do know it was aged for 8 years before being bottled.
On the Nose
Dried rich fruit (like raisins and dried apple) soaked in sherry, a gingerbread house, vanilla, and some cloves.
On the palate
Terry's chocolate orange, sprinkled with cinnamon, with some dried cherry and apricots, and shortbread biscuits.
Conclusion
A very rich and, funnily enough, indulgently Christmas dram! I can see where the Christmas cake and chocolate notes in the name of this whisky come from. I didn't get the dates but could find everything else.
One of those rich drams which goes very well with an indulgent Christmas!
